Pat MastorsPat Mastors is a Patient Advocacy expert and discusses her invention, an innovative product called the Patient Pod. It’s a simple tool that clips to a patient’s bedrail when they are hospitalized and contains hand sanitizer, wipes and other tools to help patients advocate for themselves during a hospital stay. It’s also a great tool for medical practices to use to brand themselves to their patients who are going in to the hospital. Pat is the author of the book “Design to Survive: 9 Ways an IKEA Approach Can Fix Health Care and Save Lives” and reveals her personal reasons as to why she is so committed to patient advocacy.

  • Are you staying up-to-date on Meaningful Use changes?

    The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) this morning announced deadline extensions for Meaningful Use (2014 reporting year) and PQRS (EHR Direct or Data Submission Vendor & Qualified Clinical Data Registries). All extensions are to March 20, 2015. Included in the deadline extension is the “one switch” option (from Medicare to Medicaid or vice versa) for the 2014 payment year. Additionally, CMS announced late in January that they are looking at making some Meaningful Use changes in 2015.
