HHS Delays ICD-10 Implementation
Thursday, March 8th, 2012Last month, Heath & Human Services (HHS) announced that they were delaying the October 2013 deadline for transition to the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Edition (ICD-10) in an effort to reduce regulatory burden. Undoubtedly, it’s a financial and administrative strain on all physicians, particularly those with smaller practices. Together with the transition to form 5010 and the meaningful use deadlines, ICD-10 was just one more challenge for medical practices to understand, adopt and integrate.
